The famed Yoichi distillery is the second and smaller distillery of the Nikka Whisky Company. Founded in 1934 by one of the two most influential men in Japanese Whisky, Masataka Taketsuru, you’ll still find it today in southern Hokkaido where it’s surrounded by mountains and a terrain suspiciously similar to the one found in Scotland. That’s also where Masataka studied the art of Whisky production before returning to Japan as a master blender. Their big, oily spirits in the Highland style are every Whisky lover’s wet dream.
One of two most anticipated Nikka releases of 2021, this spectacular Japanese Whisky is the peated part of the Nikka Discovery series. The Miyagikyo Peated Single Malt is made with peated Malts that showcase the distillery's smoky side. Distinguished and dynamic, this one was worth the wait.
