There were only 547 bottles of this fully mature 30-year-old from Girvan.

An independent bottler, Chapter 7 likes their Whisky casks unique. Everything matters: the wood, age, temperature, its location in the rick-house… it's all part of the story. Large Scotch producers marry casks in large vats before bottling so that the master blender can try to make them all taste the same. The folks at Chapter 7 Whisky think that’s a shame.

Chapter 7 is the brain-child of Selim Evin. He thinks that each cask should tell its own unique tale, so since 2014, he's been travelling to Scotland and Ireland to hand-select single casks from the inventories of the world’s greatest distilleries. Then he custom bottles each one with its own story. How many bottles you ask? Well, until the barrel is empty.

Owned by William Grant & Sons, Girvan is a grain Whisky distillery, located in the Scottish Lowlands. Now, let's see the stats of the precious Chapter 7 Monologue 30 Year Old Girvan 1991. Distilled in 1991, it was bottled by Chapter 7 in 2021 as part of their Monologue series. That means it spent long 30 years in selected ex-Bourbon casks – just enough time to meditate and mature into flavors of fruity raisins, sultanas, and tropical wafts of banana. The number of bottles yielded? A mere 547.

An incredibly great offering; ...

An incredibly great offering; with an unmatched price. This allows scotch connoisseurs that don't have a yatch to try a great representation of a 30yr old scotch. I will definitely look out for every offering from this company. Great find Falviar!

This one was very good...after the first few sips I found myself logging into Flaviar to purchase a second bottle. The flavor is complex. The notes of raisin almost remind me of a cognac or brandy. There is a depth to the oak but is doesn't overpower anything. Sip this one slowly and enjoy it while you can. I wish so much that I could have this one regularly...but that is impossible with so few bottles made.

What a delight! Reminds me of exquisite, very old bourbons. Very elegant and sophisticated.
